Green Energy
Biomass energy is one of the most available sources of renewable energy in the world. It is basically organic material produced by the photosynthesis of light. The Chemical compounds of carbon are stored and used to generate energy.
Rice milling companies spend more than half of their operating costs on thermal energy used for drying and producing power, but using rice husks reduces the carbon emissions from burning fossil fuel and ensures for a cleaner environment.
Joseph Agro Industries will invest in a green energy power plant, using the organic waste from our agricultural activities as a feedstock, to ensure for a clean and safe environment.
Sustainability
Joseph Agro Industries is committed to making a contribution in the communities where we have our farms and processing mills.
Our sustainability model entails collaborating with tertiary institutions to produce students that will understudy best practices in agriculture. We will also engage students from the faculty of agriculture in some Universities, as supervisors and extension trainers for our out-grower farmer schemes, plus, we will award scholarships based on a merit system for the award winning children of farmers to study agriculture up to university level.
Our water empowerment scheme for local communities means that communities will be able to access water for their farms from our irrigation schemes.
We will be employing thousands of people from our host communities, leading to rural economic empowerment of the rural areas through job creation.
Joseph Agro Industries plans to endow an annual award for the “JOSEPH AGRO farmer of the year”, which will be a yearly contest for the out-grower farmer that delivers the highest yield of crops per hectare of land, to motivate, appreciate our out-growers and to encourage greater participation of rural farmers in the agricultural sector.
